About The Position

Viridian Staffing’s client is seeking an experienced Retail General Manager for a cannabis dispensary located about 20 miles east of Brockton, Massachusetts. The manager oversees daily retail operations, leads a team of approximately 20 or more employees, and ensures consistent execution of company policies, procedures, and operating standards. The role works closely with Team Leads and executive leadership to manage employee performance, coach and develop staff, implement training, maintain accountability, and support effective communication throughout the organization. This is a hands-on retail leadership role in a fast-paced environment. The manager conducts regular employee check-ins, addresses performance concerns, applies progressive discipline when appropriate, and ensures employees understand and meet expectations. The manager communicates company initiatives, promotions, product deliveries, vendor events, and operational priorities, while ensuring established standard operating procedures are followed. The role translates organizational goals and key performance indicators into actionable priorities for the retail team. It involves reviewing sales and inventory reports, analyzing spreadsheets, identifying operational improvements, and aligning front-of-house retail operations with back-of-house inventory processes. Flexibility with scheduling is necessary because the dispensary operates seven days per week.

Requirements

Proven retail management experience, including direct responsibility for employee performance management, staff development, scheduling, operational execution, and accountability.
Proficiency with spreadsheets, email, and digital communication platforms, including Google Workspace or similar systems.

Nice To Haves

Experience managing teams of 20 or more employees in a busy retail environment is strongly preferred.
Formal retail management training through an established retail organization, such as Starbucks, CVS, or a similar company, is highly desirable.
Cannabis retail management experience is preferred but not required.
Experience with Dutchie or a similar retail point-of-sale and inventory management system is a plus.

Responsibilities

Ensure alignment between front-of-house retail operations and back-of-house inventory processes.
Follow through on commitments and ensure established standard operating procedures are followed.
