About The Position

Hercules Concrete is seeking a motivated Dispatcher for its facility in Warren, Michigan. The Dispatcher coordinates day-to-day plant operations to support safety, quality, production, and profitability, while providing quality customer service. The role involves coordinating drivers and field staff, scheduling deliveries, and communicating with drivers and customers. The position may offer an opportunity to move into management.

Requirements

At least 3 years of concrete dispatching experience.
Understanding of quality control and quality assurance in the ready-mix concrete industry.
Knowledge of concrete production equipment, processes, and maintenance programs.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks and delegate when appropriate.
Ability to use multiple communication methods, including multi-line telephone systems, mobile phones, two-way radios, and email.
Ability to multitask while remaining detail-oriented.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of union contracts.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Willingness to work long hours and weekends during peak season.

Responsibilities

Answer incoming calls and other communications.
Use maps to provide accurate directions and quickly select efficient routes.
Coordinate the response to and delivery of information to drivers and field staff.
Schedule drivers efficiently to meet production demands.
Balance driver hours to support productivity and customer needs while complying with applicable DOT laws.
Maintain radio and/or phone contact with drivers.
Assist with driver recruiting and retention.
Provide quality customer service.
Perform other assigned duties or assist others as needed.
