About The Position
The Dishwasher/Lavaplatos position at 54th Street Restaurants is an opportunity to begin or continue a career in the restaurant industry. No restaurant experience is required; the employer will train the right candidate. Team members may develop skills and advance into food preparation, cook, trainer, or leadership roles. The role supports a busy, high-volume kitchen by cleaning and sanitizing dishes and equipment, maintaining an orderly work area, assisting the kitchen team during busy shifts, and helping with basic food preparation and other back-of-house duties as trained. The kitchen uses commercial dishwashing equipment and staffs shifts to support teamwork. The position is available full-time or part-time. Evening and weekend availability is preferred.
Requirements
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Comfort working in a hot, wet, and physically active environment.
- A team-first attitude and willingness to help where needed.
- Commitment to cleanliness, organization, and food safety standards.
- No restaurant experience is required; training is provided.

Responsibilities
- Wash and sanitize dishes, cookware, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
- Keep the dish area, floors, and workspaces clean and organized.
- Return clean items to the correct storage areas.
- Remove trash and assist with general kitchen cleanliness.
- Support the kitchen team during busy shifts.
- Assist with basic food preparation and other back-of-house duties as trained.
