About the position
The Director of Sales at Customer.io will be responsible for leading and developing a high-performing sales team in the EMEA and APAC regions. Their primary objective will be to drive revenue growth and expand the customer base in these key markets. This strategic sales leader will collaborate with cross-functional teams, foster relationships with key stakeholders, and analyze sales performance to optimize efficiency and productivity. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the EMEA and APAC markets, excellent communication skills, and a track record of success in B2B software sales.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of account executives
- Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy for the EMEA and APAC regions
- Drive the sales cycle from prospecting and qualifying leads to closing deals
- Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders within target accounts
- Collaborate closely with marketing, customer success, and product teams
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and competitor activities
- Leverage the product-led growth and self-service model
- Analyze sales performance data and provide regular reports to executive management
- Continuously assess and improve sales processes, tools, and systems
- Create and nurture a feedback loop with Product, Engineering, Customer Success, and Marketing
- Help craft and execute the overall sales strategy for Customer.io's offerings
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute go-to-market strategies and campaigns
- Identify and pursue new market opportunities and partnerships
- Drive a culture of customer success within the sales team
- Provide sales leadership and support for large, strategic deals
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with industry influencers, partners, and thought leaders
- Actively participate in industry events, conferences, and speaking engagements
- Collaborate with the product team to provide customer feedback and insights for product enhancements and new feature development.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred)
- High-Growth B2B software sales leadership executive with Director, Regional VP, or VP tenure at a successful SaaS company
- Strong understanding of the EMEA and APAC markets, with a network of contacts in key industries
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively influence and negotiate at all levels of an organization
- A demonstrated track record of success selling into the Marketing vertical
- Track record of building world-class sales organizations with the consistent ability to win deals
- Strategic mindset and a results-oriented approach, with a focus on driving revenue growth and achieving sales targets
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to leverage data to make informed decisions and drive sales performance
- Self-motivated and proactive with a high level of initiative and a strong sense of ownership
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities
