About the position
We are seeking a product-minded Senior Full Stack Engineer to join our Strategic Accounts squad at Customer.io. In this role, you will have a direct impact on the product by solving challenges that most impact our strategic customers. We value collaboration, diversity, and empowering individuals to work together on interesting problems and deliver solutions quickly. As a mentor and model, you will help build well-architected services in Go and UIs in JavaScript, while also working with our tech support teams to diagnose operational issues and assist customers. This is an opportunity to be part of a small team that values high-quality software, continuous improvement, and rapid iterative development.
Responsibilities
- Be a model and mentor for writing well-architected, well-tested and easy to understand services in Go and UIs in JavaScript (Ember.js), and help others to be the same
- Apply your unique perspective to help define and build the next generation of features and infrastructure needed to help customers and the company to flourish
- Work with tech support teams to diagnose operational issues and help customers achieve their goals with the product
- Take an active role in a friendly supportive team that encourages personal and professional growth
- Mentor coworkers through code review, pair programming, team collaboration, and training to improve collective knowledge and best practices
- Be part of a small team of developers that value high-quality software, continuous improvement, collaboration, and rapid iterative development
- Bring technical expertise to solve hard problems, adapt to change, and leverage new technologies and best practices.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Go
- Good skills in JavaScript and a willingness to learn Ember.js in your first three months
- Experience in working with RDB systems, preferably MySQL
- Ability to deliver high quality solutions quickly and without mentorship
- Experience working with customers and applying a deep understanding of their needs to produce timely solutions to their real-world problems
- Comfort working in UNIX environments and applying modern collaborative development practices
- A collaborative mindset backed by excellent communication skills and a desire to help make great decisions in an empathetic and respectful way
- Not being afraid to fail, take risks, and ask for help
- Experience working within a distributed company is preferred
- Preferably based in European/African time zones
- Preferably 7+ years of relevant experience
