About The Position

2K is seeking a Director, Product Marketing to shape and drive the global product marketing strategy for a new IP from 31st Union, from development through launch and live service. This senior leadership role connects consumer insight, product strategy, market dynamics, and business priorities to help ensure players understand, value, and invest their time in the game. The role partners closely with 31st Union’s Development team, Product, Creative, and publishing partners so the player promise is reflected in the game experience and consistently represented across campaigns, creative assets, and go-to-market execution. Reporting to the Head of Marketing, the Director serves as a trusted strategic partner and delegate, independently representing Global Marketing on key cross-functional initiatives. The role calls for someone who can define strategy, influence senior leaders, develop a team, and take an active role in execution. Strong fluency in games, player behavior, and live service is essential, including understanding how game systems, progression, competition, social dynamics, and content affect player motivation and connect to acquisition, engagement, retention, community, and lifecycle. The successful candidate brings clarity to ambiguity, anticipates challenges, develops others, and raises the quality of strategic thinking and execution. This position is hybrid and requires working onsite three days per week at the Los Angeles, California; Novato, California; or Seattle, Washington office. The stated annual pay range at the start of employment is $182,800–$270,520, depending on market location and individual job-related factors. Total compensation may also include a bonus and/or equity awards, and eligibility to participate in the 401(k) plan and Employee Stock Purchase Program. The company is unable to provide visa sponsorship or assistance; candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in Product Marketing, Franchise Marketing, Product Management, Brand Marketing, or related consumer-facing disciplines, including meaningful leadership experience.
  • Significant experience marketing free-to-play and/or live-service games, with a strong understanding of player acquisition, engagement, retention, content cadence, community, and lifecycle marketing.
  • Demonstrated experience developing positioning, audience strategy, value propositions, and go-to-market strategies for large-scale consumer products.
  • Experience partnering directly with game development or product teams and influencing decisions through consumer and market insight.
  • Strategic leadership ability to connect consumer, product, market, and business realities into clear direction.
  • Deep understanding of games, player behavior, and the competitive landscape, including how game systems, progression, social dynamics, and design decisions influence player motivation and market potential.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and executive presentation skills, including the ability to simplify complexity and influence senior leaders.
  • Strong judgment and ownership, with the ability to make sound decisions with incomplete information and operate with significant autonomy.
  • Experience managing, mentoring, and developing high-performing marketers.
  • Ability to lead across highly matrixed, cross-functional organizations through influence rather than authority.
  • High standards for quality and execution, with the ability to move between strategy and hands-on work.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring current or future employer sponsorship.
