About The Position

AGBO is an artist-led independent studio founded in 2017 by Anthony and Joe Russo, focused on shaping the future of film and television. With a track record of generating over $7 billion globally, including major hits like Avengers: Endgame, Everything Everywhere All at Once, and Netflix's The Gray Man, AGBO is expanding into the gaming space. The studio aims to expand storytelling through immersive, interconnected worlds across media, and is seeking creative minds to help build this future. The Director, Product Marketing will lead product marketing for AGBO’s first game, owning its positioning, launches, player adoption, and scaling throughout its lifecycle. This role requires collaboration between the development studio, publishing, and platform partners, ensuring player insights and market intelligence inform product strategy and go-to-market execution.

Requirements

  • 8-12 years in games product marketing, brand, or go-to-market roles.
  • 2+ years leading a function or a team.
  • Shipped a game as the marketing owner.
  • Experience with live service games.
  • Proven experience owning positioning for a product in a crowded category.
  • Fluency with key launch metrics: wishlists, CPI, ROAS, D1/D7/D30 retention, LTV to CAC, and store conversion.
  • Strong demonstrated data analysis skills, comfortable spotting trends and translating data into actionable insights.
  • Hands-on experience with BI/dashboard tools.
  • Experience designing and interpreting A/B/multivariate tests and building LTV and pricing models.
  • Regularly plays games and understands the current landscape.
  • Understands creator and streamer culture and how to earn credibility with players.
  • Excellent writing skills for various documents, including messaging docs, memos, and store copy.
  • Experience working across development, publishing, community, and paid media teams.

  • Familiarity with emerging tools and technologies for marketing teams (content creation, creative testing, data analysis).

Responsibilities

  • Lead the positioning and messaging for the game title, from core promise to store page copy.
  • Set the marketing strategy across the full lifecycle, from announcement through live service.
  • Define and maintain clear messaging regarding game features and competitive claims.
  • Define the target audience, including core gamers and fans of AGBO's film and television work.
  • Translate research, playtests, and community feedback into product positioning and packaging decisions.
  • Commission and utilize qualitative and quantitative research to inform product development.
  • Track competitors, their claims, and market opportunities.
  • Build the go-to-market plan for all phases: reveal, betas, early access, launch, and ongoing content.
  • Own store pages and platform presence, collaborating with platform partners for featuring and co-marketing.
  • Work with the development team on naming and presenting features clearly to players.
  • Position the content and monetization strategy to ensure player understanding and business viability.
  • Partner on user acquisition targets, channel mix, and creative testing.
  • Develop and run A/B and multivariate tests to validate positioning, creative, and pricing.
  • Plan localization and international rollout sequences.
  • Own the player funnel and targets with analytics, reporting against launch stage gates.
  • Work directly with first-party platform partners to plan and execute launches.
  • Sit at the production table with the development studio and participate in standups.
  • Brief and manage creative agencies and external partners, ensuring quality of campaign assets.
  • Advise studio and company leadership with concise, actionable recommendations.
  • Own and manage the product marketing budget, tracking return on investment.
  • Hire and develop a product marketing team over time, working alongside them.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
