The Director of Sales is responsible for meeting or exceeding sales activity goals, including outside sales, for self and for the team as directed by standard operating procedures. This role leads, trains, and mentors sales staff, including recruitment and hiring, coaching development, performing evaluations, and progressive discipline. The Director of Sales collaborates on the creation, management, and operation within departmental budget and expense plans. They partner with senior leadership at the properties under their oversight, holding them accountable to ensure that the operation is Creating Exceptional Guest Experiences & Achieving Profitability. This role is also responsible for marketing all food and beverage outlets and is recognized as the driver of all sales revenues, ensuring quarterly and annual revenue goals are achieved for the hotel. They develop sales marketing plans and evaluate trends to modify strategies that will enhance revenues effectively. The Director of Sales ensures outside sales information is added to the required sales grid for daily distribution and hotel participation in brand sales and revenue management initiatives. They also ensure that hotel credit procedures and audit guidelines are followed, and attend and participate in property revenue meetings, ensuring revenue maximization and profit in all areas. This role represents the company within the community, maintaining a positive rapport with local organizations, and is responsible for ensuring that all required reports are completed accurately, on time, and in accordance with company policies and procedures.
