About The Position

The Director of Pro Shop Operations leads the daily success of the golf program and oversees golf operations, course management, pro shop performance, member engagement, and tournament execution. The role sets standards for service, quality, and innovation while supporting an outstanding experience for golfers.

The Chimneys Golf Course is an 18-hole public course in North Georgia, typically open seven days a week year-round. Following a summer 2024 renovation, its greens were converted from bent grass to ultra-dwarf Sunday Bermudagrass to improve the playing surface and course sustainability.

Requirements

• Five years of golf course experience in event coordination, retail operations, merchandise, staffing, inventory, sales, and customer service.
• Associate degree from an accredited college with an emphasis in business administration, golf administration, hospitality, or sports management, or a PGA Professional Golf Management degree.
• PGA membership associate or Class A PGA membership.
• U.S. citizenship or legal work status.
• Must pass a detailed background investigation.
• Must pass a credit check.
• Works a fixed schedule that includes weekends and/or holidays as required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage golf operations, including tee time scheduling, pace-of-play monitoring, and course presentation.
• Oversee pro shop merchandising strategy, inventory control, and sales performance.
• Develop and execute a calendar of tournaments, clinics, and member events.
• Manage and mentor golf staff, starters, and outside service teams to deliver exceptional service.
• Collaborate with the superintendent to ensure course conditions meet championship standards.
• Monitor budgets, control expenses, and drive revenue growth through programming and retail strategies.
• Build relationships with members, guests, and the local golf community.
• Maintain the City’s alcohol license, beverages, and packaged food.
