About The Position

The Pro Shop Attendant supports the golf club’s pro shop by assisting members and guests, promoting merchandise, and completing sales and cash-handling tasks accurately. The role requires knowledge of the facilities, course or courts, local rules, and inventory; it may also involve operating reservation systems, golf carts, or people movers when applicable. The attendant helps maintain a safe, orderly environment and communicates member and guest requests or concerns to management.

Requirements

• Ability to communicate effectively with members, co-workers, and management.
• Ability to operate computers, keyboards, and interfaces.
• Ability to communicate clearly using telephones and two-way radios.
• Written acknowledgment of comprehensive understanding of cash-handling and transaction procedures.

Responsibilities

• Explain facility layout, rest stops and restrooms, halfway houses or lightning shelters, and applicable local rules to players.
• Use product knowledge and sales skills to support merchandise sales at profit margins set by the supervisor.
• Stay aware of promotions and advertisements.
• Operate the point-of-sale system safely and accurately, following cash-handling procedures.
• Maintain an orderly register area and keep supplies stocked.
• Operate reservation-system hardware and software when applicable.
• Follow safety guidelines and communicate emergency information calmly, clearly, and professionally.
• Take necessary actions to remove people engaging in unauthorized facility use.
• Address member and guest service issues promptly and effectively, notifying a supervisor of concerns.
• Accurately process register transactions and maintain cash and other media at registers.
• Communicate member and guest requests to management.
