About The Position

The platform aims to replace financial guesswork with clear visibility into cash flow, helping owners run stronger, more resilient businesses. The performance marketing team at Relay operates a sophisticated paid media program across various channels with a significant monthly budget, focusing on maximizing efficiency and proving impact through robust measurement infrastructure. The Director of Performance Marketing will lead this effort, driving strategy, managing the team, and enhancing measurement capabilities.

Requirements

  • 8+ years in performance marketing or paid media.
  • At least 2 years of experience managing a team, ideally at a high-growth SaaS, fintech, or subscription business.
  • Experience owning a multi-million dollar monthly paid media budget.
  • Expertise in attribution, including designing incrementality tests, commissioning media mix models, or settling attribution debates.
  • Deep hands-on fluency in at least two of the following: paid search, paid social, CTV/programmatic, or affiliate.
  • Experience driving acquisition into both PLG and sales-assisted funnels.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate channel data into business narratives.
  • SQL and AI fluency in team workflows for analysis, creative iteration, reporting, and audience research.

Responsibilities

  • Own the full paid media portfolio, including paid search, paid social, affiliate, CTV, linear TV, and direct mail.
  • Set channel strategy, budget allocation, and performance targets for both brand and performance objectives.
  • Directly manage and develop a team of performance marketers, including hiring, performance management, and career growth.
  • Lead the TV and CTV strategy, collaborating with Brand and Creative teams on messaging and measurement.
  • Build attribution infrastructure to connect upper-funnel investment to downstream efficiency.
  • Drive paid search and paid social programs with a focus on continuous experimentation (audience segmentation, creative testing, bidding strategy, landing page optimization).
  • Own the affiliate program end-to-end, including partner recruitment, commission structure, compliance, and performance management.
  • Identify non-obvious distribution partners in the SMB ecosystem.
  • Collaborate with the data team to build and maintain measurement infrastructure (media mix modeling, multi-touch attribution, incrementality testing).
  • Own paid media budget modeling, pacing, and forecasting in partnership with Finance.
