About The Position

A leading healthcare organization in King City, California is seeking an experienced Director of Occupational Therapy to provide clinical leadership and operational oversight for the Occupational Therapy department. This role combines direct patient care with administrative leadership responsibilities to ensure high-quality, compliant, and patient-centered rehabilitation services across inpatient and outpatient settings. The Director will supervise Occupational Therapists, Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs), and rehabilitation support staff while maintaining active clinical involvement in patient care.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program required
  • Current California Occupational Therapy license required
  • Must meet all applicable state licensure and regulatory requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of Occupational Therapy experience required
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred
  • Experience in inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation settings preferred
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of rehabilitation regulations and compliance standards
  • Ability to manage clinical operations while maintaining patient care responsibilities
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical oversight and direction for the Occupational Therapy department
  • Evaluate and treat patients while maintaining an active clinical caseload
  • Ensure delivery of high-quality occupational therapy services across inpatient and outpatient settings
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and discharge planning strategies
  • Promote evidence-based practice and patient-centered care standards
  • Supervise and support Occupational Therapists, COTAs, and rehabilitation support staff
  • Coordinate staff training, clinical education, and competency development programs
  • Oversee departmental policies, procedures, workflow, and documentation standards
  • Support departmental growth initiatives and rehabilitation program development
  • Participate in operational planning, budgeting support, and performance management activities
  • Ensure compliance with state practice regulations, accreditation standards, and organizational policies
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation standards
  • Monitor quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives
  • Support audits, regulatory readiness activities, and accreditation processes
  • Promote patient safety and adherence to rehabilitation best practices
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and performance feedback to therapy staff
  • Encourage continuing education and professional development opportunities
  • Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, case management, and interdisciplinary care teams
