About the position
Databento is seeking a sales professional to join their team as their first sales hire. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive sales strategy, driving revenue growth, establishing and maintaining accurate forecasting and record-keeping procedures, building executive relationships, staying up-to-date with industry trends, and collaborating across teams. The ideal candidate should have experience in the end-to-end sales pipeline and possess skills in understanding and communicating with developers and quants, PLG, data products, quant trading, and/or market microstructure. They should also have excellent attention to detail, professional communication skills, and the ability to manage the sales cycle effectively.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy that aligns with Databento’s objectives and targets new market opportunities.
- Drive revenue growth by setting and achieving aggressive sales targets, actively pursuing new business opportunities, and expanding existing client relationships.
- Establish and maintain accurate, timely, and documented forecasting and record-keeping procedures, keeping our CRM up-to-date and organized.
- Build a network of executive relationships across the industry and with key partners and customers.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor activities to identify potential business opportunities and adapt sales strategies accordingly.
- Collaborate across teams to align sales efforts with overall company objectives and ensure a seamless customer experience.
