Requirements

  • Minimum six years Catering Sales experience in a full-service hotel environment with proven success.
  • Extensive knowledge of all hotel support departments.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Meeting Planner, Certified Professional in Catering and Events, or similar Designation strongly preferred.
  • Delphi experience preferred.
  • Diagram Writing Software experience, such as Social Tables, preferred.
  • Property Management System knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the annual catering sales strategy to retain and grow market share, including targeted promotions, sales blitzes, and initiatives to drive specific segments.
  • Analyze catering performance and financial results to refine strategies, optimize profitability, and identify new growth opportunities.
  • Direct, coach, and develop catering managers, including onboarding, continuing education, and ongoing performance support.
  • Develop and manage the annual catering budget, ensuring alignment with hotel and complex financial goals.
  • Serve as the key communication link between complex and hotel leadership, ensuring alignment, consistency, and clarity in all catering sales strategies across client markets.
  • Partner with corporate catering leadership, marketing, sales, brand, and PR teams to design creative sales and marketing opportunities that elevate visibility, focusing on wedding, social, and corporate segments.
  • Collaborate with Food & Beverage leadership to create innovative wedding packages, specialty menus, and tailored offerings that drive revenue and enhance client satisfaction.
  • Optimize presence on third-party sites, ensuring content is accurate, competitive, and aligned with market strategy.
  • Maintain strong partnerships with culinary, banquet operations, sales, revenue, and other teams; step in to resolve escalations and ensure an exceptional client experience.
  • Research and monitor market trends and competitors to refine strategies and identify new opportunities.
  • Represent the hotels through networking and participation in local industry and community events.
  • Oversee lead response and conversion strategies while personally prospecting, selling, and servicing select accounts as assigned; this role carries a personal sales goal.
  • Ensure catering events are planned and serviced to brand standards through leadership of the team; personally service select events as appropriate.
  • Champion best practices, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and initiatives that improve efficiency, profitability, and the client experience.
  • Serve as the key communication link between complex and hotel-specific leadership and catering sales managers.
  • Regular attendance in conformance with standards.
  • May be required to work varying schedules to reflect business needs.
  • Required to attend all mandatory training sessions and meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
