About The Position

The Director of Admissions at Lancaster Behavioral Health Hospital (LBHH) directs and manages the day-to-day operation of Assessment and Referral Services. LBHH is a 126-bed inpatient psychiatric hospital and a start-up joint venture between Lancaster General Health/Penn Medicine and Universal Health Services. Its services include a general adult unit, a dedicated adolescent unit, a psychiatric-medical unit for co-occurring disorders, an intensive adult unit for severe conditions, and a women’s trauma unit.

Requirements

• Master’s degree required.
• 1–3 years of experience in a director-level role.

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage the day-to-day operation of Assessment and Referral Services.
• Screen and select assessment and referral staff; provide department orientation and training; complete performance evaluations; and give feedback to the Human Resources office.
• Schedule department staffing to ensure adequate coverage.
• Maintain intake call, assessment, and administrative documentation associated with services.
• Supervise communications staff (receptionists) and provide switchboard coverage.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures for assessments and referrals, ensuring the overall quality of services provided.
