About The Position

The Director of Admissions coordinates referrals and admissions processing, maintains admissions and census records, and works with healthcare providers, families, residents, and interdisciplinary teams. The role also supports prospective residents through prior authorization, financial evaluations, facility tours, and responses to admission-related inquiries and concerns. The position requires at least one year of experience and demonstrated success in the facility or another related healthcare facility. Knowledge of insurance coverage and authorization processes for long-term care is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Manage referral status and ensure timely, accurate admissions processing.
• Communicate with external team members, families, and healthcare providers regarding referral updates.
• Secure prior authorizations and complete financial evaluations for prospective residents.
• Maintain accurate records of admissions, pay-status changes, and daily census updates.
• Complete and file admission paperwork according to facility policies.
• Use electronic medical records and relevant tools for data management.
• Build positive relationships with interdisciplinary teams, residents, and families.
• Provide facility tours, respond to inquiries, and address admission-related concerns.
• Promote teamwork, communication, and continuous improvement in the admissions process.
