About The Position

Dotmatics is seeking an experienced market leader and biologics subject-matter expert to own market growth strategy for Luma, its Scientific Intelligence Platform, in biologics research. The role focuses on research spanning antibody discovery, protein engineering, lead optimization, and developability. It is customer- and market-facing, involving engagement with research leaders at pharmaceutical, biotechnology, academic, and government institutions, and translating their needs into strategy and action across the business. The Director will shape target markets, buyer personas, positioning, messaging, and go-to-market approaches to drive software adoption and AI use cases in biologics research. The role works across global Siemens teams—including Sales, Product, Services, Customer Success, and Solution Marketing—as well as Siemens DISW and DI Automation, aligning teams around a consistent market story. It also connects biologics research to the broader Molecule to Market narrative, including ELN, Lab Orchestration, and Biologics registration. The successful candidate will help define and demonstrate AI use cases, including how scientists prepare, trust, and use their data with tools such as NVIDIA BioNeMo. They will build market and competitive insight, develop business cases and pricing inputs, support strategic customer pursuits, and equip global teams with practical sales and marketing resources. Success includes adoption of a clear market strategy, consistent messaging, growing software adoption and pipeline, and proven AI use cases that help research teams advance molecules faster.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of experience in life sciences.
  • Hands-on biologics research experience in a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or research institute setting.
  • Deep understanding of biologics discovery, including target validation, antibody and protein engineering, expression and purification, assay development, screening, characterization, and candidate selection.
  • Knowledge of how research leaders make decisions, balance speed and quality, and work with development, automation, and data science teams.
  • Familiarity with ELN, LIMS, registration systems, or assay data platforms.
  • Experience in product marketing, market strategy, product management, or commercial roles at a software, informatics, or life sciences solutions company.
  • Track record of driving software adoption or translating new technologies such as AI into use cases customers adopt.
  • Strong analytical skills, including market sizing and business-case development.
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills, and the ability to turn complex science and technology into clear, simple messaging.
  • Comfort working with senior leaders, industry experts, and customers.
  • Ability to work across a large, global, matrixed organization and build trust across regions and business units.

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in biology, biochemistry, bioengineering, or a related field; an advanced degree is strongly preferred and a PhD is a plus.
  • Experience running or supporting a biologics discovery team.
  • Experience with lab automation, high-throughput screening, or self-driving lab concepts.
  • Experience with AI, machine learning, or data platforms in a scientific setting.
  • Existing relationships with industry thought leaders, analysts, or research institutes.
  • Prior experience at a biotechnology company or in a discovery organization at a large pharmaceutical company.

Responsibilities

  • Own the market growth strategy for Luma in biologics research, including antibody discovery, protein engineering, lead optimization, and developability.
  • Define target segments, buyer personas, and priority accounts, including leaders in biologics research, discovery biology, protein sciences, antibody engineering, research IT, and lab automation.
  • Build positioning and messaging for bench scientists, research leaders, and executives.
  • Drive software adoption by identifying valuable customer workflows, working with customers and field teams, and documenting repeatable practices.
  • Define and prove AI use cases for biologics research, including use of tools such as NVIDIA BioNeMo and the preparation and use of research data.
  • Translate research pain points into clear value propositions, including faster design-build-test-learn cycles, improved capture of experimental context, better data sharing, and cleaner handoffs into development.
  • Partner with the Siemens Solution Marketing team on content, campaigns, events, and messaging for the research market.
  • Work with industry thought leaders, analysts, and partners to build credibility and incorporate external perspectives into market messaging.
  • Create competitive analysis covering informatics vendors, point solutions, and in-house builds.
  • Develop business cases, pricing inputs, and value stories with Finance and Sales.
  • Equip global teams with talk tracks, battlecards, demo narratives, and customer proof points.
  • Partner with DISW and DI Automation teams to align messaging, joint offers, and customer conversations.
  • Partner with Product on roadmap priorities based on feedback from research teams.
  • Connect biologics research to the broader Molecule to Market narrative, including ELN, Lab Orchestration, and Biologics registration.
  • Support strategic pursuits and executive conversations with customers and partners.
  • Track trends in AI-driven discovery, autonomous labs, lab automation, and data analytics, and translate them into action.
  • Engage with research leaders and scientists, participate in customer pursuits, and bring customer feedback back to the business.
  • Analyze markets by sizing segments, tracking competitors, and identifying emerging trends.
  • Align teams across Siemens and the broader organization so they present a consistent story to the biologics research market.
