  • Experience leading complex technical programs in laboratory automation, scientific instrumentation, workflow software, AI-enabled systems, digital platforms, or related technologies.
  • Experience integrating hardware, software, automation, data, AI, and scientific methods into reliable products, workflows, or platforms.
  • Knowledge of instrument APIs, SDKs, and laboratory interoperability.
  • Track record of translating emerging technologies and internal innovation into scalable solutions and measurable business value, spanning strategy, architecture, validation, deployment, adoption, and commercialization.
  • Experience leading cross-functional and cross-business initiatives across technical disciplines and organizational boundaries, aligning product, engineering, scientific, commercial, and executive stakeholders.
  • Working knowledge of established and emerging laboratory standards and protocols, including MHS, MCP, SiLA 2, and OPC UA/LADS, and ability to assess applicability, maturity, architecture implications, and implementation trade-offs.

Responsibilities

  • Define and drive enterprise requirements for automation-ready instruments, APIs, data models, connectivity, and workflow integration.
  • Evaluate and apply laboratory standards and protocols, including MHS, MCP, SiLA 2, OPC UA/LADS, and ANSI/SLAS standards, as appropriate to devices, modalities, and customer environments.
  • Translate interoperability requirements into product roadmaps, reusable interfaces, and testable implementation criteria while preserving proprietary capabilities and commercial flexibility.
  • Define and govern the enterprise roadmap for intelligent workflows, autonomous workcells, and lab-in-the-loop experimentation.
  • Connect scientific workflows, automation platforms, instruments, data systems, and AI into reliable integrated solutions, reusable architectures, and deployment playbooks.
  • Define the enterprise smart compute strategy for intelligent instruments, integrated workflows, AI-enabled analysis, and autonomous laboratories.
  • Evaluate edge, local, cloud, and hybrid compute approaches across latency, security, reliability, cost, and deployment requirements, and establish repeatable architectures.
  • Use internal laboratories and strategic programs to develop, test, and mature capabilities under real operating conditions.
  • Partner across product, engineering, scientific, and commercial teams to turn validated capabilities into external products, workflows, workcells, services, and reusable technology foundations.
  • Align priorities, investment, roadmaps, ownership, adoption, and measurable outcomes across operating companies and business units.
  • Engage strategic technology partners, research organizations, suppliers, and industry collaborators to accelerate delivery, reduce duplication, strengthen differentiation, and inform build, buy, partner, and platform decisions.
