About The Position

Mimica is hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer to join its Intelligent Automation team. The role embeds with enterprise customers to turn process and task-mining insights into working automations and move them into production quickly. It is a hands-on, customer-facing engineering position focused on agentic AI. The engineer will design and ship AI agents using frontier models such as Claude, Gemini, and GPT, combine them with RPA and custom code running on Google Cloud, and bring field learnings back into Mimica’s product and delivery playbooks. As a senior team member, the engineer will also provide technical leadership and mentorship to Intelligent Automation developers. Mimica is an AI-powered process intelligence platform that analyzes work and generates AI agents to execute it. The company is scaling after raising $26 million in Series B financing, and its technology is used by Fortune 500 companies. Its remote-first team is distributed across more than 16 countries.

Requirements

  • Experience in software engineering, automation engineering, or technical consulting, including at least 3 years delivering automation for enterprise clients.
  • Hands-on production experience with at least one major RPA platform: UiPath, Microsoft Power Automate, Automation Anywhere, or Blue Prism.
  • Strong Python skills and solid experience with REST APIs, JSON, SQL, and system integration.
  • Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform, such as Vertex AI, Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, BigQuery, Pub/Sub, or IAM, including deploying production workloads.
  • Strong Git skills, including branching strategies, pull requests, code reviews, resolving merge conflicts, and CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub, GitLab, or Cloud Build.
  • Hands-on experience building and deploying agentic AI solutions with frontier models such as Claude, Gemini, or GPT, including prompt and context design, tool calling, retrieval-augmented generation, multi-step agents, and evaluation; understanding of their reliability limitations.
  • Experience leading or mentoring developers through code reviews, pairing, and coaching, and helping a team raise its technical standards.
  • Ability to translate complex or unclear business processes into clear automation designs and judge what should and should not be automated.
  • Confident communication with executives and frontline operators, including the ability to lead workshops and demonstrations.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with process or task-mining tools such as Celonis or UiPath Process Mining.
  • RPA certifications, such as UiPath Advanced Developer or Power Automate RPA Developer.
  • Experience with agent frameworks and protocols such as Claude Agent SDK, Google ADK, Vertex AI Agent Builder, LangGraph, Model Context Protocol, UiPath Agentic Automation, or Copilot Studio.
  • Google Cloud certifications, such as Professional Cloud Developer or Professional Machine Learning Engineer, and experience with containers and infrastructure as code such as Docker and Terraform.
  • Background in a forward-deployed, solutions engineering, or Automation Center of Excellence role.
  • Domain knowledge in finance operations, insurance, banking, or shared services.

Responsibilities

  • Own customer deployments end to end, from discovery and solution design through build, testing, go-live, and hypercare.
  • Use process and task-mining data to identify, size, and prioritize valuable automation opportunities.
  • Design and build agentic AI solutions that reason, call tools, and act across enterprise systems using models such as Claude, Gemini, and GPT.
  • Evaluate models on accuracy, cost, latency, and data-privacy needs, and choose between agents, LLM steps, RPA, or conventional code.
  • Make AI reliable in production by building evaluation sets, guardrails, human-in-the-loop checkpoints, and monitoring.
  • Build hybrid automation solutions combining AI agents, RPA bots, document AI, and custom Python services into end-to-end workflows.
  • Integrate with ERPs, CRMs, ticketing tools, and legacy applications through APIs, MCP servers, connectors, and UI automation.
  • Deploy agents, services, and pipelines on Google Cloud using services such as Vertex AI, Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, BigQuery, and Pub/Sub, following GCP architecture and security standards.
  • Lead and mentor Intelligent Automation developers through design and code reviews, pairing, and coaching; help them adopt agentic AI and engineering best practices.
  • Run workshops with business and IT stakeholders, explain technical trade-offs, and build trust with operations leaders.
  • Deliver production-grade work using Git, automated testing, CI/CD, monitoring, exception handling, and enterprise security practices.
  • Track hours saved, error rates, and throughput, and present return on investment to customer sponsors.
  • Share field insights, reusable components, and feature requests with Product and Engineering, and help shape delivery playbooks.

Benefits

  • Generous compensation and stock options aligned with the company’s internal framework, market data, and individual skills.
