About The Position

The Arc of Opportunity is seeking Direct Support Professionals to support individuals with developmental disabilities and help them reach their fullest potential. The role involves advocating for the people served, supporting their daily living and community participation, and implementing their Individual Service Plans. The schedule is Sunday through Wednesday, 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM, for 32 hours per week. Compensation is $17.65 per hour during asleep hours and $20.81 per hour during awake hours without MAP, or $21.85 per hour during awake hours with MAP.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Active and valid driver’s license.
• Ability to pass background checks.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and sustain periods of sitting or standing.
• Ability to assist in a restraint if needed.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in substance abuse or mental health.

Responsibilities

• Advocate for individuals served and demonstrate the Agency’s values and mission in all interactions.
• Use knowledge of and interests in the community to empower individuals and enhance their quality of life.
• Implement Individual Service Plans.
• Assist individuals with activities of daily living, including household tasks and chores.
• Assist individuals with appointments, including driving the Agency’s van.
• Interact respectfully and professionally.
• Attend all trainings and apply the knowledge gained in the work.
• Communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
