About The Position

The Arc of Opportunity is seeking Direct Support Professionals to support individuals with developmental disabilities in residential settings. The role focuses on advocating for the individuals served, implementing their Individual Service Plans, supporting daily living activities, and helping them participate in their communities and reach their fullest potential. The position includes assisting with appointments and driving the Agency’s van. The scheduled hours are Wednesday and Thursday, 3 PM–11 PM, and Friday and Saturday, 7 AM–3 PM, for 32 hours per week. Pay is $20.81 per hour, or $21.85 per hour with MAP Certification.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Active and valid driver’s license.
• Ability to pass background checks.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and sit or stand for sustained periods.
• Ability to assist in a restraint if needed.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in substance abuse or mental health.
• MAP Certification, which qualifies for the higher stated hourly rate.

Responsibilities

• Advocate for individuals served and demonstrate the Agency’s values and mission in interactions.
• Use knowledge of and interests in the community to empower individuals and enhance their quality of life.
• Implement Individual Service Plans.
• Assist individuals with activities of daily living, including household tasks and chores.
• Assist individuals with appointments, including driving the Agency’s van.
• Present respectfully and professionally in all interactions.
• Attend trainings and apply the knowledge gained throughout the work.
• Communicate effectively orally and in writing.
