About The Position

The Arc of Opportunity is seeking Direct Support Professionals to support individuals with developmental disabilities and help them reach their fullest potential. The role involves advocating for individuals, implementing their Individual Service Plans, and assisting them with daily living activities, appointments, and community engagement. The position is scheduled Sunday through Wednesday, 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., for 32 hours per week. Pay is $20.81 per hour, or $21.85 per hour with MAP certification.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Active and valid driver’s license.
• Ability to pass background checks.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and sustain periods of sitting or standing.
• Ability to assist in a restraint if needed.

• Experience in substance abuse or mental health.

Responsibilities

• Advocate for individuals served and demonstrate the Agency’s values and mission in all interactions.
• Use knowledge of and interests in the community to empower individuals and enhance their quality of life.
• Implement Individual Service Plans.
• Assist individuals with activities of daily living, including household tasks and chores.
• Assist individuals with appointments, including driving the Agency’s van.
• Maintain a respectful and professional manner in all interactions.
• Attend required trainings and apply the knowledge gained throughout the work.
• Communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
