About The Position

The Arc of Opportunity is seeking Direct Support Professionals to support individuals with developmental disabilities and help them reach their fullest potential. The role involves advocating for individuals, supporting daily living and household activities, implementing Individual Service Plans, and assisting with appointments, including driving the Agency’s van. Employees are expected to interact respectfully and professionally, attend trainings, apply what they learn, and communicate effectively orally and in writing.

The schedule is Sunday and Monday, 7:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m., and Friday and Saturday, 7:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m., for 32 hours per week. Pay is $20.81 per hour, or $21.85 per hour with MAP Certification.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Active and valid driver’s license.
• Ability to pass background checks.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and sit or stand for sustained periods.
• Ability to assist in a restraint if needed.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in substance abuse or mental health.
• MAP Certification.

Responsibilities

• Advocate for individuals served and demonstrate the Agency’s values and mission in interactions.
• Use knowledge and interests in the community to empower individuals and enhance their quality of life.
• Implement Individual Service Plans.
• Assist individuals with activities of daily living, including household tasks and chores.
• Assist individuals with appointments, including driving the Agency’s van.
• Interact respectfully and professionally.
• Attend all trainings and apply learned knowledge in the work.
• Communicate effectively orally and in writing.
