About The Position
The Arc of Opportunity is hiring Direct Support Professionals to support individuals with developmental disabilities and help them reach their fullest potential. The role involves advocating for individuals, supporting daily living and community participation, implementing Individual Service Plans, and assisting with appointments. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, for a total of 30 hours per week. Pay is $20.81 per hour, or $21.85 per hour with MAP certification.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Active and valid driver’s license.
- Ability to pass background checks.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and sustain periods of sitting or standing.
- Ability to assist in a restraint if needed.

- Experience in substance abuse or mental health.
Responsibilities
- Advocate for individuals served and demonstrate the agency’s values and mission in all interactions.
- Use knowledge of and interests in the community to empower individuals and enhance their quality of life.
- Implement Individual Service Plans.
- Assist individuals with activities of daily living, including household tasks and chores.
- Assist individuals with appointments, including driving the agency’s van.
- Maintain a respectful and professional manner in all interactions.
- Attend trainings and apply the knowledge gained in the work.
- Communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
