About The Position

The Arc of Opportunity is seeking Direct Support Professionals to support individuals with developmental disabilities in residential services. The role focuses on advocating for individuals, helping them reach their fullest potential, and supporting their quality of life and independence. The position includes overnight work from Sunday through Tuesday, 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM, totaling 24 hours per week. The listed asleep rate is $17.65 per hour. The awake rate is $20.81 per hour without MAP and $21.85 per hour with MAP.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Active and valid driver’s license.
Ability to pass background checks.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and sit or stand for sustained periods.
Ability to assist in a restraint if needed.

Nice To Haves

Experience in substance abuse or mental health.

Responsibilities

Advocate for individuals served and demonstrate the agency’s values and mission in all interactions.
Use knowledge of and interests in the community to empower individuals and enhance their quality of life.
Implement Individual Service Plans.
Assist individuals with activities of daily living, including household tasks and chores.
Assist individuals with appointments, including driving the agency’s van.
Interact respectfully and professionally.
Attend required trainings and apply the knowledge gained in the work.
Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
