About The Position

PALS Pomona is seeking compassionate, dependable, and motivated Direct Support Professionals for its Adult Day Program. The role provides person-centered support to adults with intellectual, developmental, behavioral, and/or trauma-related disabilities, helping participants build independence, confidence, and everyday skills. Through community-based activities and meaningful experiences, the DSP encourages personal growth, social connection, and overall well-being. Services take place in day-program and community settings, with participants supported individually or in groups of up to three.

Requirements

High school diploma.
Minimum one year of work experience.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
Patience, compassion, and commitment to person-centered care.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Reliable transportation and a clean driving record.
Valid California Driver's License and current auto insurance.
Must pass a background check, TB clearance, drug screening, and physical examination.
Ability to lift, move, and assist individuals as needed.

Nice To Haves

Experience working with individuals with disabilities is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

Work directly with one or more program participants, supporting up to three at a time.
Transport participants to and from the program and community activities using a personal vehicle or PALS vehicle.
Assist individuals with daily living skills, personal care, communication, and social interaction.
Encourage independence by allowing participants to complete tasks on their own whenever possible.
Facilitate community-based activities and recreational opportunities.
Use person-centered approaches.
Submit required documentation in a timely manner.
Participate in monthly staff meetings and required training.
