About The Position

ViaQuest Residential Services is hiring Direct Support Professionals to provide in-home support to individuals with developmental disabilities. The role focuses on fostering independence, choice, and empowerment while ensuring individuals’ health and safety. Training is provided, and prior experience is not required. The position may be suitable for people beginning a healthcare career, gaining experience in the IDD field, or balancing work with classes.

The posting advertises walk-in/open interviews for residential locations every Monday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the local office, 7695 Poe Ave., Dayton, OH 45414. Applicants are asked to bring an Ohio driver’s license, I-9 employment eligibility documents, an auto insurance card, and proof of their highest level of education.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Personal, reliable vehicle that the employee is willing and able to use to transport individuals served.
• Valid driver's license and car insurance.
• Motor Vehicle Record must meet ViaQuest's Authorized Driver Criteria.
• Ability to push, lift, or carry up to 50 pounds and to climb, balance, kneel, and crouch.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, fostering independence, choice, and empowerment while attending to their health and safety.
• Supervise, teach, and assist individuals in all aspects of their lives.
• Complete household tasks, including meal preparation and maintaining a clean and safe living environment.
• Provide personal care assistance.
