About The Position

ViaQuest Community Solutions provides support and services to individuals with developmental disabilities in their homes. Direct Support Professionals provide direct care and help individuals increase their independence, choice, and empowerment while ensuring their health and safety. Training is provided in its entirety, and no prior experience is required. The role serves Avon, Speedway, Danville, Indiana, and surrounding areas.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Personal, reliable vehicle that the employee is willing and able to use to transport individuals served; limited non-driving positions are available.
• Valid Indiana driver's license and car insurance.
• Ability to push, lift, or carry up to 50 pounds and climb, balance, kneel, and crouch.
• Ability to pass background checks.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in developmental disabilities or direct care is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, fostering independence, choice, and empowerment while ensuring health and safety.
• Teach and assist individuals in all aspects of their lives.
• Complete household tasks, including meal preparation and maintaining a clean and safe living environment.
• Provide personal care assistance.
• Transport individuals served when applicable.
