About The Position

ViaQuest Residential Services is hiring Direct Support Professionals to support individuals with developmental disabilities in their homes. The role focuses on fostering independence, choice, and empowerment while ensuring individuals’ health and safety. Training is provided in its entirety, and no prior experience is required. Part-time first- and second-shift schedules are available. The listed pay range is $17.30–$18.30 per hour.

The role may be suitable for people beginning a healthcare career, seeking experience in the intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) field, pursuing nursing assistant or STNA work, or gaining experience while taking classes. Applicants without a degree and candidates ranging from high school graduates to retirees are welcome.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must have a personal, reliable vehicle that can be used to transport individuals served.
• Must have a valid Ohio driver's license and car insurance.
• Motor vehicle record must meet ViaQuest's Authorized Driver Criteria.
• Must be able to push, lift, or carry up to 50 pounds and climb, balance, kneel, and crouch.

Nice To Haves

• No prior experience is required; training is provided.
• Interest in starting a healthcare career or gaining experience in the IDD field.
• Interest in pursuing a career as a nursing assistant or STNA.
• Relevant experience or interest as a home health aide, nursing student, caregiver, companion care provider, or personal care aide.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, fostering independence, choice, and empowerment while attending to their health and safety.
• Supervise, teach, and assist individuals in all aspects of their lives.
• Complete household tasks, including meal preparation and maintaining a clean and safe living environment.
• Provide personal care assistance.
