About The Position

RISE is seeking Direct Support Professionals who are passionate about working with individuals with disabilities. The role supports people in a variety of capacities and settings, including residential homes, day programs, the community, and their own homes. Support may include assistance with daily living, hygiene, meal preparation, mobility, and behavioral needs. RISE provides services for people with disabilities, including residential settings, day programs, employment assistance, managed care, and hourly supports. Its mission is to create opportunities for and with people, including the individuals and families receiving services, employees, and stakeholders. The organization emphasizes the positive difference employees make in clients’ lives and offers flexible schedules, hands-on human-services experience, paid training, and rewarding work.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must have verbal and written communication skills adequate to the specific job.
Must obtain an approved Background Clearance Application through the Office of Licensing annually.
Specific language abilities other than English may be required.
Must have reliable transportation to the work site and for transporting people, if applicable.
Must have access to a telephone.
Must meet minimum training requirements and complete renewals as assigned.
Must be at least 21 years old if required to drive an approved RISE vehicle.
If using a personal vehicle to transport people, must maintain a valid driver’s license, an acceptable driving record, and current auto insurance meeting RISE’s minimum insurance requirements.

Responsibilities

Assist people with daily living activities, hygiene, meal preparation, and mobility.
Provide behavioral supports.
Work in settings such as residential homes, day programs, community locations, or people’s own homes.
Transport people when applicable, subject to RISE’s vehicle and insurance requirements.
