About The Position

Redwood Family Care Network is hiring a part-time Direct Support Professional in Laguna Niguel, California, to provide person-centered support to adults with physical and developmental disabilities. The role assists clients with daily living and personal care needs, supports their individual goals, and helps maintain a safe, clean, and healthy environment. The position pays $18.00–$20.00 per hour and includes weekday and weekend shifts. The job is not remote. Applicants must pass pre-employment requirements, including a background check. A $1,000 sign-on bonus is stated in the job title.

Requirements

• At least one year of experience supporting adults with developmental disabilities, crisis management, behavior management, and ABA.
• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 21 years of age.
• Valid California driver’s license.
• Successfully pass all pre-employment requirements, including a background check.
• First Aid and CPR certification.
• Able to lift 50 pounds.
• Able to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.

Nice To Haves

• Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification; alternatively, willingness to obtain it within the first six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist adults with physical and developmental disabilities in their daily lives.
• Assist with dietary, hygiene, bathing, grooming, dressing, restroom, and other activities of daily living.
• Outline and prepare clients’ daily routines as written in their Individual Program Plans.
• Support residents’ needs and goals by participating in the development of IPP/ISP goals.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and healthy environment for clients.
• Take clients to visit family and friends and to preferred leisure or recreation activities, and encourage socializing among peers.
• Prepare daily meals and assist with cleanup.
• Transport clients in a personal vehicle when needed; mileage is reimbursed.
• Report incidents or problems and communicate daily with administrators.
• Perform other assigned duties.
