About The Position

The Digital Executive Producer leads WAFF’s daily social media plan, deciding which stories are suited to each platform and tailoring content strategically. The role ensures responsive streaming coverage, including live reporting and continuously updated content in the Streaming Center. Working closely with news managers, the producer serves as a content expert and collaborates with reporters throughout the day on story development and execution. The position also guides digital strategy, breaking news coverage, audience growth, and the work of digital staff.

Requirements

• Background as a Digital Content Producer, Digital Manager, or Executive Producer at a television station.
• Strong news judgment, leadership, and multi-platform expertise.

Responsibilities

• Lead the daily social media plan, selecting platforms for stories and tailoring content to each platform.
• Ensure streaming coverage is responsive, with live coverage and new content continuously updated in the Streaming Center.
• Collaborate with news managers as a content expert and work with reporters on story development and execution.
• Monitor analytics to track performance and guide daily digital strategy.
• Lead breaking news coverage across digital, social, and streaming platforms.
• Drive SEO best practices and audience growth initiatives.
• Train and coach digital staff on writing, workflow, and platform best practices.
• Review scripts for legality, grammar, accuracy, fairness, and tone.
