About The Position

KVAL/KMTR is seeking a Digital Executive Producer to direct and supervise content across digital and social platforms. The role upholds high standards of journalistic professionalism and ethics, including fairness, balance, creativity, and accuracy. The Digital Executive Producer guides and supports the digital team and the wider content center in producing daily news and special content, while fostering a positive, productive, and creative team environment. The role also ensures the station’s digital and social platforms remain relevant, competitive, timely, and focused on serving the audience.

Requirements

Strong AP-style writing skills.
A proven track record of achieving station goals.
Understanding of how to interpret a content brand without resorting to clickbait.
Ability to use digital analytics and apply them to set goals.

Nice To Haves

Management experience creating engaging content across multiple platforms.
Strong people skills, especially coaching, motivating, and teaching.
Strong understanding of how to grow and maintain digital and social traffic.
One to two years in a television newsroom environment or equivalent.
A college degree in Journalism or a related field.

Responsibilities

Directly supervise digital producers and collaborate with newsroom staff.
Review scripts and provide feedback to encourage powerful, visual storytelling.
Manage and coordinate breaking news.
Collaborate with the News Director, news managers, and other station personnel as assigned.
Plan, execute, and oversee continuity and strategy for the website and social platforms.
Coach team members and provide ongoing feedback.
Complete annual reviews and facilitate schedules and time cards.
Support training and development.
