About The Position

KVAL/KMTR is hiring an Executive Producer to direct and supervise content across digital and social platforms. The role upholds high journalistic standards of professionalism and ethics, reflecting fairness, balance, creativity, and accuracy across all products. The Digital Executive Producer guides and supports the digital team and content center in producing daily news and special content, fosters a positive, productive, and creative team environment, and ensures digital and social platforms remain relevant, competitive, timely, and audience-focused.

Requirements

Strong AP-style writing skills.
Proven track record of achieving station goals.
Ability to interpret a content brand without resorting to clickbait.
Ability to use digital analytics and apply them to set goals.
College degree in Journalism or a related field.

Nice To Haves

Management experience creating engaging content across multiple platforms.
Extraordinary people skills, with an emphasis on coaching, motivating, and teaching.
Strong understanding of how to grow and maintain digital and social traffic.
One to two years in a television newsroom environment or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Directly supervise digital producers and collaborate with newsroom staff; review scripts and provide feedback to encourage powerful, visual storytelling.
Manage and coordinate breaking news.
Collaborate with the News Director, news managers, and other station personnel as assigned.
Plan, execute, and oversee continuity and strategy for website and social platforms.
Coach and manage the team, provide ongoing feedback, complete annual reviews, facilitate schedules and time cards, and support training and development.
