DIGITAL CONTENT PRODUCER - WFSB
About The Position
WFSB is seeking a Social & Streaming Producer to help break news, lead social conversations, and create engaging content across platforms. The role combines digital content production, social video creation, and streaming show production, with a focus on YouTube, breaking news, and extending local journalism beyond traditional newscasts. The producer will write and publish web stories, breaking news updates, push alerts, and social posts; create and publish vertical video; produce YouTube livestreams and streaming shows; and develop original social and streaming projects. The role works closely with reporters, anchors, producers, and managers to turn journalism into digital storytelling. This is a full-time position with a Monday–Friday schedule, or a schedule at the manager’s discretion.
Requirements
- Strong vertical video editing skills and news judgment.
- Adobe Premiere skills and the ability to edit quickly under deadline.
- Working knowledge of TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and digital publishing.
- Ability to manage breaking news, video production, and show logistics while maintaining focus on the story.
- Creativity, initiative, and interest in what makes people click, watch, and share.
- Passion for reinventing how local news reaches its audience.
Responsibilities
- Write and publish web stories, breaking news updates, push alerts, and social posts.
- Produce and post multiple vertical videos daily, with additional production as breaking news requires.
- Edit content for TikTok, Instagram, and other platforms.
- Identify timely moments, interviews, and stories for social-first coverage.
- Produce YouTube livestreams and create thumbnails and headlines to help grow views, watch time, and revenue.
- Book guests, develop topics, build rundowns, and produce live and recorded streaming shows from start to finish.
- Pitch original social franchises, streaming series, and documentary-style projects.
- Cut video for the web, create graphics and carousels, track performance, and manage content across platforms.
- Collaborate with reporters, anchors, producers, and managers on digital storytelling.
