Diesel Technician - Truck, Trailer & Reefer - New Caney, TX
About The Position
Transport Refrigeration Services is hiring a Truck Technician for its fleet service team in New Caney, Texas. The role focuses on diesel vehicles, preventative maintenance, repairs, and keeping trucks, trailers, and refrigeration units road-ready. Technicians work in a supportive, safety-focused environment servicing transportation fleets and cargo equipment. Flexible schedule options include 3x12- or 4x10-hour shifts. Second- and third-shift employees receive a $2-per-hour shift differential, with additional hourly pay available for ASE certifications in brakes, suspension, and preventive maintenance.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Obtain a toolbox and required tools.
- At least 1 year of hands-on experience performing DOT inspections, brake work, or preventive maintenance, or completion of a technical school program.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and commitment to quality work.
Nice To Haves
- Refrigeration unit experience.
- ASE certifications in brakes, suspension, or preventive maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance on trailers, trucks, refrigeration units, and APUs.
- Diagnose and repair fuel, electrical, drivetrain, brake, suspension, and cooling systems.
- Replace brakes and service trailer ABS systems.
- Perform FHWA inspections, tire mounting, balancing, and repairs.
- Repair trailer bodies, doors, and structural components.
- Complete interior and exterior trailer cleaning.
- Service APUs and provide general road service as needed.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Operate forklifts, hoists, and company or customer vehicles.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
