About The Position
Transport Refrigeration Services is hiring a Diesel Technician to maintain and repair trucks, trailers, refrigeration systems, and auxiliary power units (APUs). The role supports a fast-paced fleet maintenance operation, helping keep vehicles reliable and road-ready. The position is located in Henderson, North Carolina, and pays $30.50–$37.00 per hour. A $2-per-hour shift differential is offered for night shifts, with additional hourly pay for ASE certifications in Brakes, Suspension, and Preventive Maintenance. The job shift is listed as “Any.” The technician performs preventive maintenance, diagnoses and repairs vehicle and trailer systems, conducts inspections and tire services, and maintains a clean work area. Reefer unit experience is a plus. Requirements
- Have a clean, valid driver’s license.
- Possess or obtain a toolbox and required tools.
- Have at least 1 year of shop experience performing DOT annual inspections or brake work, or have a tech school certification.
Nice To Haves
- Reefer unit experience.
- ASE certification in Brakes, Suspension, or Preventive Maintenance; additional hourly pay is offered for these certifications.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance on trailers, trucks, refrigeration units, and APU units.
- Troubleshoot and repair fuel, electrical, drivetrain, brake, suspension, and cooling systems.
- Replace brakes and work on trailer ABS systems.
- Complete FHWA inspections and tire services, including mounting, balancing, and repair.
- Repair trailer bodies, rear doors, and structural components.
- Clean trailer interiors and exteriors.
- Service APUs and perform general road service.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Operate forklifts, hoists, and company or customer vehicles.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
