Diesel Technician- Truck , Trailer, & Reefer- Henderson, NC
About The Position
Transport Refrigeration Services is hiring a Diesel Technician to help maintain its fleet and keep trucks, trailers, and refrigeration equipment road-ready. The company provides fleet maintenance and refrigeration solutions for the transportation industry, including installations, maintenance, and repairs. The technician will perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot and repair vehicle and trailer systems, complete inspections and tire services, and provide APU and road service. The role also includes trailer-body repairs, cleaning, operating equipment and vehicles, and maintaining an organized work area.
Requirements
- Clean, valid driver’s license.
- Must possess or obtain a toolbox and required tools.
- At least 1 year of shop experience performing DOT annual inspections or brake work, or tech school certification.
Nice To Haves
- Reefer unit experience.
- ASE certifications in Brakes, Suspension, or PMs.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance on trailers, trucks, refrigeration, and APU units.
- Troubleshoot and repair fuel, electrical, drivetrain, brake, suspension, and cooling systems.
- Replace brakes and service trailer ABS systems.
- Complete FHWA inspections and tire services, including mounting, balancing, and repairs.
- Repair trailer bodies, rear doors, and structural components.
- Perform interior and exterior trailer cleaning.
- Service APUs and provide general road service.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Operate forklifts, hoists, and company or customer vehicles.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
