About The Position
Transport Refrigeration Services is seeking a skilled, motivated Fleet Service Truck Technician to maintain and repair trucks, trailers, refrigeration systems, and APU units. The position supports the company’s fleet maintenance and refrigeration services, helping keep vehicles road-ready and cargo at peak quality. The job is located at TRS Monroe in Monroe, Georgia, and lists an hourly salary range of $30.50–$37.00. A $2-per-hour shift differential is offered for night shifts, with additional hourly pay for ASE certifications in Brakes, Suspension, and PMs. The role includes preventative maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, inspections, tire services, trailer-body work, cleaning, APU service, and general road service. The technician will also operate forklifts, hoists, and company or customer vehicles, and is expected to maintain a clean, organized work area.
Requirements
- Have a clean, valid driver’s license.
- Possess or obtain a toolbox and required tools.
- Have at least 1 year of shop experience performing DOT annual inspections or brake work, or have a tech school certification.
Nice To Haves
- Reefer unit experience is a plus.
- ASE certifications in Brakes, Suspension, or PMs qualify for additional hourly pay.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance on trailers, trucks, refrigeration units, and APU units.
- Troubleshoot and repair fuel, electrical, drivetrain, brake, suspension, and cooling systems.
- Replace brakes and service trailer ABS systems.
- Complete FHWA inspections and tire services, including mounting, balancing, and repairs.
- Repair trailer bodies, rear doors, and structural components.
- Perform interior and exterior trailer cleaning.
- Service APUs and perform general road service.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Operate forklifts, hoists, and company or customer vehicles.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
