About The Position

Diesel Technician Apprentices work in a fast-paced environment, help maintain clean facilities, and interact with customers and drivers. No prior professional experience is required; Love’s provides training through its apprentice program. Apprentices learn diagnostic and repair skills for vehicle electrical, climate-control, wheel-end, air, brake, and charging systems, along with basic computer diagnostics, auxiliary component replacement, and parts lookup and acquisition. The role also involves assisting with roadside services and learning preventative maintenance. Apprentices work a rotating schedule that alternates between day and night as needed.

Requirements

• Mechanically inclined; no professional experience is required.
• Ability to move and lift more than 75 pounds while working in close quarters.
• Ability to work in various temperatures.
• Ability to obtain a Department of Transportation medical card; Love’s pays for it.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with roadside services.
• Learn preventative maintenance services.
• Learn electrical diagnostics and repairs.
• Learn air conditioning and heating diagnostics and repairs.
• Learn wheel end assembly diagnostics and repairs.
• Learn air system and air brake diagnostics and repairs.
• Learn charging system diagnostics and repairs.
• Learn basic computer diagnostics and auxiliary component replacement.
• Learn parts lookup and acquisition.
• Prioritize customer safety and satisfaction and comply with company safety policies and procedures.
• Work a rotating schedule that alternates between day and night as needed.
