Diesel Technician Apprentices work in a fast-paced environment, helping maintain clean locations and providing friendly service to customers and drivers. Professional experience is not required; Love’s provides training through its apprentice program. Apprentices learn diagnostics and repairs for electrical, air conditioning and heating, wheel end assemblies, air systems, air brakes, and charging systems, as well as basic computer diagnostics, auxiliary component replacement, and parts lookup and acquisition. They also learn preventative maintenance and assist with roadside services. The role requires prioritizing customer safety and satisfaction, following company safety policies and procedures, and working a rotating schedule that alternates between day and night as needed. A Department of Transportation medical card is required and paid for by Love’s.
