Diesel Technician Apprentice
About The Position
Love’s is hiring a Diesel Technician Apprentice to work in a fast-paced environment and help maintain a clean, welcoming place for customers. The role involves interacting with customers and drivers and learning diesel maintenance and repair skills through an apprentice program. Professional experience is not required; training is provided. The apprentice program covers electrical, air conditioning and heating, wheel-end, air system, air brake, and charging system diagnostics and repairs, as well as basic computer diagnostics, auxiliary component replacement, and parts lookup and acquisition. Apprentices also assist with roadside services and learn preventative maintenance.
Requirements
- Mechanically inclined; professional experience is not required.
- Ability to move and lift 75+ pounds while working in close quarters.
- Ability to work in various temperatures.
- Ability to obtain a medical card through the Department of Transportation; Love’s pays for it.
Responsibilities
- Assist customers with roadside services.
- Learn preventative maintenance services.
- Learn electrical, air conditioning and heating, wheel-end, air system, air brake, and charging system diagnostics and repairs.
- Learn basic computer diagnostics and auxiliary component replacement.
- Learn parts lookup and acquisition.
- Put customer safety and satisfaction first and comply with company safety policies and procedures.
- Work a rotating schedule that alternates between day and night as needed.
