Diesel Technician Apprentice
About The Position
Diesel Technician Apprentices work in a fast-paced environment, helping maintain clean locations and providing friendly service to customers and drivers. No professional experience is required; Love’s provides training through its apprentice program. Apprentices learn a range of diagnostic, repair, maintenance, and parts-related skills while supporting roadside services and prioritizing customer safety and satisfaction. The role requires working a rotating schedule that alternates between day and night as needed, and the ability to obtain a Department of Transportation medical card, paid for by Love’s.
Requirements
- Ability to move and lift more than 75 pounds while working in close quarters.
- Ability to work in various temperatures.
- Ability to obtain a medical card through the Department of Transportation; the cost is paid by Love’s.

- Mechanical inclination; professional experience is not required.
Responsibilities
- Assist customers with roadside services.
- Learn preventative maintenance services.
- Learn electrical diagnostics and repairs.
- Learn air conditioning and heating diagnostics and repairs.
- Learn wheel end assembly diagnostics and repairs.
- Learn air system diagnostics and repairs.
- Learn air brakes diagnostics and repairs.
- Learn charging system diagnostics and repairs.
- Learn basic computer diagnostics and auxiliary component replacement.
- Learn parts lookup and acquisition.
- Prioritize customer safety and satisfaction and comply with company safety policies and procedures.
