About The Position

Diesel Technician Apprentices work in a fast-paced environment, helping maintain clean facilities and providing friendly service to customers and drivers. The apprenticeship is intended for mechanically inclined candidates without professional experience; Love’s provides training in diesel vehicle systems and repair. The program covers electrical, air conditioning and heating, wheel-end, air system, air brake, and charging system diagnostics and repairs; basic computer diagnostics and auxiliary component replacement; and parts lookup and acquisition. Apprentices also assist with roadside services and learn preventative maintenance. The position requires a rotating schedule that alternates between day and night as needed, and the ability to obtain a Department of Transportation medical card, paid for by Love’s.

Requirements

Mechanical inclination; professional experience is not required.
Ability to move and lift 75+ pounds while working in close quarters.
Ability to work in various temperatures.
Ability to obtain a Department of Transportation medical card; Love’s pays for it.
Ability to work a rotating schedule alternating between day and night as needed.

Responsibilities

Assist customers with roadside services.
Learn preventative maintenance services.
Prioritize customer safety and satisfaction while complying with company safety policies and procedures.
