Diesel Technician Apprentice
About The Position
Diesel Technician Apprentices work in a fast-paced environment, helping maintain clean locations and providing friendly service to customers and drivers. The role is suitable for mechanically inclined candidates without professional experience; training is provided. Apprentices learn diesel diagnostics and repair, parts lookup and acquisition, and preventative maintenance while assisting customers with roadside services. The work includes a rotating schedule that alternates between day and night as needed. Candidates must be able to obtain a Department of Transportation medical card, paid for by Love’s.
Requirements
- Mechanically inclined; professional experience is not required.
- Ability to move and lift more than 75 pounds while working in close quarters.
- Ability to work in various temperatures.
- Ability to obtain a Department of Transportation medical card; Love’s pays for it.
Responsibilities
- Assist customers with roadside services.
- Learn preventative maintenance services.
- Learn electrical diagnostics and repairs.
- Learn air conditioning and heating diagnostics and repairs.
- Learn wheel end assembly diagnostics and repairs.
- Learn air system diagnostics and repairs.
- Learn air brake diagnostics and repairs.
- Learn charging system diagnostics and repairs.
- Learn basic computer diagnostics and auxiliary component replacement.
- Learn parts lookup and acquisition.
- Prioritize customer safety and satisfaction while complying with company safety policies and procedures.
