About The Position

Diesel Technician Apprentices work in a fast-paced environment and help maintain clean locations while providing friendly service. They interact with customers and drivers and receive training despite having no prior professional experience. The apprentice program provides instruction in diesel vehicle diagnostics and repairs, parts lookup and acquisition, and related maintenance services. Apprentices may assist with roadside services and are expected to prioritize customer safety and satisfaction while following company safety policies and procedures. The role requires working a rotating schedule that alternates between day and night as needed.

Requirements

• Ability to move and lift 75 or more pounds while working in close quarters.
• Ability to work in various temperatures.
• Ability to obtain a Department of Transportation medical card; Love’s pays for it.

Nice To Haves

• Mechanical inclination; professional experience is not required because training is provided.

• Assist customers with roadside services.

• Learn electrical diagnostics and repairs.
• Learn air conditioning and heating diagnostics and repairs.
• Learn wheel end assembly diagnostics and repairs.
• Learn air system diagnostics and repairs.
• Learn air brake diagnostics and repairs.
• Learn charging system diagnostics and repairs.
• Learn basic computer diagnostics and auxiliary component replacement.
• Learn parts lookup and acquisition.
• Prioritize customer safety and satisfaction and comply with company safety policies and procedures.
