About The Position

Diesel Technician Apprentices work in a fast-paced environment, maintaining clean places and providing friendly service. They interact with customers and drivers and learn diesel maintenance and repair skills through an apprenticeship program. No professional experience is required; training is provided. Apprentices work a rotating schedule that alternates between day and night as needed and may assist with roadside services.

Requirements

• Mechanically inclined; professional experience is not required.
• Ability to move and lift more than 75 pounds while working in close quarters.
• Ability to work in various temperatures.
• Ability to obtain a medical card through the Department of Transportation; Love’s pays for it.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with roadside services.
• Learn preventative maintenance services.
• Learn electrical diagnostics and repairs.
• Learn air conditioning and heating diagnostics and repairs.
• Learn wheel end assembly diagnostics and repairs.
• Learn air system and air brake diagnostics and repairs.
• Learn charging system diagnostics and repairs.
• Learn basic computer diagnostics and auxiliary component replacement.
• Learn parts lookup and acquisition.
• Prioritize customer safety and satisfaction while complying with company safety policies and procedures.
• Work a rotating schedule that alternates between day and night as needed.
