Diesel Technician Apprentice
About The Position
Diesel Technician Apprentices work in a fast-paced environment, helping maintain clean locations and providing friendly service to customers and drivers. No professional mechanical experience is required; Love’s provides training through its apprentice program. Apprentices learn diagnostics and repairs for electrical, air conditioning and heating, wheel-end assemblies, air systems, air brakes, and charging systems, as well as basic computer diagnostics, auxiliary component replacement, and parts lookup and acquisition. The role also includes assisting customers with roadside services and learning preventative maintenance. Work follows a rotating schedule that alternates between day and night as needed.
Requirements
- Mechanically inclined; professional mechanical experience is not required.
- Ability to move and lift 75+ pounds while working in close quarters.
- Ability to work in various temperatures.
- Ability to obtain a Department of Transportation medical card; Love’s pays for it.
Responsibilities
- Assist customers with roadside services.

- Learn parts lookup and acquisition.
- Put customer safety and satisfaction first and comply with company safety policies and procedures.
- Work a rotating schedule that alternates between day and night as needed.
