Diesel Technician Apprentice
About The Position
Diesel Technician Apprentices work in a fast-paced environment, helping maintain clean places with friendly faces and interacting with customers and drivers. No professional experience is required; Love’s provides on-the-job instruction through its apprentice program. Apprentices can expect to learn diagnostics and repairs for electrical, air conditioning and heating, wheel-end assemblies, air systems, air brakes, and charging systems, as well as basic computer diagnostics, auxiliary component replacement, and parts lookup and acquisition. The role also involves assisting with roadside services and learning preventative maintenance.
Requirements
- Mechanically inclined; no professional experience is required.
- Ability to move and lift 75 or more pounds while working in close quarters.
- Ability to work in various temperatures.
- Ability to obtain a medical card through the Department of Transportation.
Responsibilities
- Assist customers with roadside services.
- Learn preventative maintenance services.
- Learn diagnostics and repairs for electrical systems, air conditioning and heating, wheel-end assemblies, air systems, air brakes, and charging systems.
- Learn basic computer diagnostics, auxiliary component replacement, and parts lookup and acquisition.
- Put customer safety and satisfaction first and comply with company safety policies and procedures.
- Work a rotating schedule that alternates between day and night as needed.
- Obtain a medical card through the Department of Transportation; Love’s pays for it.
