Diesel Technician Apprentice
About The Position
Diesel Technician Apprentices work in a fast-paced environment, maintaining clean places and providing friendly service to customers and drivers. Professional experience is not required; Love’s provides training through its apprentice program. Apprentices can expect to learn electrical, air conditioning and heating, wheel-end assembly, air-system, air-brake, and charging-system diagnostics and repairs; basic computer diagnostics and auxiliary component replacement; and parts lookup and acquisition. The role includes assisting customers with roadside services and learning preventive maintenance.
Requirements
- Ability to move and lift 75+ pounds while working in close quarters.
- Ability to work in various temperatures.
- Ability to obtain a medical card through the Department of Transportation; Love’s pays for it.

Responsibilities
- Assist customers with roadside services.
- Learn preventive maintenance services.
- Put customer safety and satisfaction first and comply with company safety policies and procedures.
- Work a rotating schedule that alternates between day and night as needed.
- Learn electrical diagnostics and repairs.
- Learn air conditioning and heating diagnostics and repairs.
- Learn wheel-end assembly diagnostics and repairs.
- Learn air-system diagnostics and repairs.
- Learn air-brake diagnostics and repairs.
- Learn charging-system diagnostics and repairs.
- Learn basic computer diagnostics and auxiliary component replacement.
- Learn parts lookup and acquisition.
